A Pop/Dance Recording artist, straight out of Toronto now under the label direction of Captain Records, is proud to announce the name Tony Bishop.

Tony Bishop a Canadian – Italian began listening to music at a young age at that moment in time it was the group Wham with the song “wake me up before you go go” that Tony Bishop automatically felt the inspiration of George Michael’s vocal influence. But it wasn’t until the age of fifteen when Tony Bishop attempted to record his own vocals with the help of his cousin, who was at the time studying music at college. Tony then began to record cover songs at the age of seventeen, guided by his cousin Onofrio Virdo.

When he graduated from high school Tony Bishop followed in the footsteps of his cousin to study music in college. Not having any knowledge of music what so ever, Tony was totally inspired to audition in order to enter the music program, figuring that if he didn’t make the program he would end up taking his second choice, auto mechanics. Well, as it happened that when audition time came the interviewers were in such awe and flabbergasted by such never-before seen raw talent and feeling, shown by Tony Bishop’s singing ability; That the director of music had accepted Tony as one of their students.

After taking a year and a half of music he decided that he’d learned as much as he could and he began teaching himself keyboards, from books. He then began working and kept singing in his spare time. It happened that one night at a karaoke bar singing a cover tune of Wham’s “wake me up before you go go” Tony Bishop was discovered by a small label that unfortunately folded a year later. But before the label had folded they had produced a rough cover of George Michael’s ‘Father Figure”.

It was the first week of October /95 when Captain Records witnessed the performance of Tony Bishop’s “Father Figure” at a nite club called Ricky Ricardo’s that Captain Records negotiated with the other label to take Tony off their hands. After hearing the dramatic, electrifying voice of Tony bishop whom some say sound like George Michael, it was clear that the world is about to see the talent of one Tony Bishop.

Captain Records has since then been working with Tony Bishop to produce the “Father Figure” track with the help of producer Marc Pompeo and remixes by Rick Rath.”Father Figure" was released on the Danceology mini EP in /96. The success of this track is partially due to the fact that Tony’s vocal talent is very similar to George Michael’s. This cover tune is already being considered as the remake of the year for /96 being a hit in Canada, which will live up to the original and maybe even surpass it. The ‘father figure’ remake was such a success it was licensed to Popular records for Tony Monaco’s (Z 103.5-radio celebrity) Freestyle Frenzy vol. 2 compilation distributed by Warner music.

Tony Bishop has now produced, written and arranged his own original track with the help of Richard Klosa called “Give me the nite” along with house remixes as well released in /99. Tony bishop’s next release will be his new single “Reach for the Sky”, the first single to his forth coming album with tracks like these who can resist a Pure Hit!

Tony Bishop has presently finished his degree at Devry in Calgary within the field of electronic engineering, for Tony Bishop education is important and must come first. Tony Bishop in his spare time loves to fly on occasion his small single engine cessna plane, as he is a trained certified pilot.

Watch for Tony Bishop fly to the Top of the charts with his spectacular new single which radio, club D.J.’s and fans are already raving about!
